White Friday 2026 Is Three Weeks Away: A Growth Playbook for GCC and Egyptian Brands
6 min read

White Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, according to Salla's seasons calendar, which recommends about six weeks of preparation. If you are reading this in early November, you have roughly three weeks left. That is still enough time to run a profitable sale, but only if you spend it on the four things that decide whether White Friday brings growth or just discounted revenue: creative, customer lists, payment partners and what happens after the sale.
Why White Friday is a growth test, not just a sales event
Salla describes White Friday as one of the biggest selling seasons of the year in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, and in Egypt retailers run their own campaigns around the same date. The big platforms set customer expectations. Last year Amazon.sa ran its White Friday sale for ten days, from 21 to 30 November 2025, with Prime early access from 20 November, Al Rajhi Bank card discounts of up to 20% (up to 25% for Prime members) and four interest-free instalments through Tabby and Tamara.
Shoppers arrive with those expectations: long sale windows, bank offers and BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later) options everywhere. A smaller brand cannot match that discount depth, and it should not try. The goal is to win customers you can keep, at a cost you can recover. If you cannot say what a White Friday customer is worth to you after 90 days, read CAC, LTV and payback before you set a discount.
Week 1 (4 to 10 November): lock the offer and the creative
- Decide the offer structure now: one hero offer, a few bundles, and a clear rule for what is not discounted. Margin maths first, design second.
- Choose products with real stock depth. Salla's own checklist for the season starts with offers and bundles, and with making sure stock covers peak demand.
- Brief creative in Arabic and English at the same time, not as a translation afterwards. Prepare short vertical video, static versions and product images, and keep the price as text in the listing, not only inside the image.
- Build a teaser version and a launch-day version of every asset, so nobody is producing under pressure on 26 November.
Week 2 (11 to 17 November): clean your CRM and build audiences
- Segment your CRM (Customer Relationship Management) data into recent buyers, lapsed buyers, high-value customers and people who browsed but never bought. Each group gets a different message. Your best customers should not get the same offer as cold traffic.
- Clean phone numbers and emails, remove duplicates, and check consent for WhatsApp, SMS and email. Sale week is a bad week to get flagged as spam.
- Open an early-access list. Amazon uses early access to reward Prime members. You can use it to reward existing customers and to collect sign-ups from new ones.
- Upload your segments to ad platforms as custom audiences and as exclusions, so you stop paying to reach people who would buy anyway.
Week 3 (18 to 26 November): confirm payments, partners and the site
Payment is where many sales in our region quietly lose conversions, so this week is about removing friction.
- Confirm BNPL with your provider, such as Tabby or Tamara in the Gulf, or valU and similar providers in Egypt. Ask about co-marketing such as banners, push notifications or a place on their deals page, and show the instalment price on product pages.
- If you run a bank card offer, agree the mechanics in writing: which cards, the discount cap, the dates and how the discount is applied at checkout.
- Keep COD (Cash on Delivery) where your customers expect it, but plan order confirmation calls and returns handling for the extra volume.
- Load-test the site, check stock sync, and test checkout on a low-cost Android phone on mobile data, because that is how many of your customers will shop.
- Prepare customer service replies and a fast response plan for WhatsApp.
Sale week: spend with discipline
Do not put the whole budget on the day itself. According to Egypt Telegraph, some campaigns start in the second half of November and run until the end of the month or into early December, and each store sets its own dates. Plan four phases: teaser, early access, peak and a final-days push, with budget rules for each. Watch CPA (Cost Per Acquisition) and contribution margin every day, not only ROAS (Return on Ad Spend), and cut products and audiences that only sell at a loss. For channel structure, see performance marketing in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Stay inside consumer rules. In Egypt, Consumer Protection Law No. 181 of 2018 still applies during sales. An inflated before price or a hidden condition can cost you more in complaints and trust than the sale earns.
After the sale: where growth actually happens
The customers you acquire on White Friday are usually expensive. The return comes from the second order, so plan it before the sale ends.
- Send every new buyer a thank-you message and a clear delivery update within 24 hours.
- Plan a second-order offer for 30 to 45 days later, based on what they bought, not another site-wide discount.
- Tag White Friday customers in your CRM, so you can compare their repeat rate and margin with customers acquired at full price.
- Write down what worked while it is fresh: offers, creatives, audiences, payment methods and the daily numbers.
If White Friday customers never come back, the sale was a marketing expense with a revenue line attached. If a meaningful share buys again, you bought growth.
FAQ
When is White Friday 2026 in Saudi Arabia and the UAE?
White Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November, according to Salla's seasons calendar. Many retailers stretch their offers over several days before and after the date. Last year, for example, Amazon.sa ran its sale from 21 to 30 November.
What is the difference between White Friday and Black Friday?
They are the same shopping event on the same date. White Friday is the name many retailers use in the Gulf and the wider Arab region, while Black Friday is the original US name, and some retailers in Egypt use both names.
How early should brands prepare for White Friday?
Salla recommends starting about six weeks before the date. If you have less time, focus first on the offer and stock, then on customer lists and payment partners, and leave the nice-to-have creative for last.
