HubSpot Now Tracks Your Brand Inside ChatGPT Answers: AEO Is No Longer Optional

AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is the work of making sure your brand shows up, accurately, when buyers ask AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity for recommendations. In 2026 it stopped being a niche experiment: HubSpot launched HubSpot AEO on April 14, 2026, a tool that tracks how often your brand is mentioned in AI answers, how competitors appear and which sources the AI cites. For B2B (business-to-business) brands in Egypt and the Gulf, the bigger opening is Arabic. According to W3Techs, Arabic is the content language of only about 0.6% of websites, which means the pool of Arabic sources that AI can draw on is still thin, and local companies can fill it.

What HubSpot actually launched

One correction first: HubSpot AEO was not launched at UNBOUND, the September event formerly called INBOUND. It was announced at HubSpot's Spring 2026 Spotlight in April. Here is what HubSpot and coverage of the launch describe:

  • It tracks brand mentions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, with a visibility score, sentiment analysis and competitor share of voice.
  • It shows citation analysis: which sources the AI draws on when it answers.
  • Prompt suggestions are built from your own CRM (Customer Relationship Management) data rather than generic templates.
  • The standalone product costs $50 per month, with no HubSpot plan required, and AEO is built into Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise.
  • More than 850 customers took part in the beta, according to PPC Land.

At UNBOUND in Boston on September 16 to 18, 2026, HubSpot then focused on AI agents, including a Campaign Agent and a Nurture Agent in public beta, as reported by MarTech. Integrate IQ, a HubSpot partner, also reports that HubSpot says it is the first CRM to integrate with ChatGPT Ads, so campaign results can be attributed to contacts and deals.

Why this matters now

HubSpot shared numbers that explain the urgency, all based on its own data. It says its customers' organic traffic is down 27% year on year, and that beta users who prioritized answer engines saw AI referral traffic grow 20% compared with customers not using the tool. One customer, Docebo, gets nearly 15% of its leads from AI traffic. These are vendor figures, so treat them as a direction, not a benchmark for your business.

The direction is clear enough. B2B buyers increasingly ask an assistant to shortlist vendors before they visit any website. If your brand is not in that answer, you may never enter the consideration set, and your analytics will not show you the loss.

The Arabic gap is the regional opportunity

Most AEO advice is written for English-language markets. In our region, buyers ask in both English and Arabic, and the Arabic web is small. With Arabic at about 0.6% of websites by content language, an Arabic question about accounting software in Saudi Arabia or payroll in Egypt has far fewer strong, local, Arabic sources to draw from. That is a gap a focused B2B brand can fill faster than a global competitor.

I could not find a public statement from HubSpot on which languages AEO supports, so I would not assume it tracks Arabic prompts well. Test your Arabic visibility manually, at least until the tools catch up.

A practical AEO plan for B2B brands in the region

  • Collect 20-30 real buyer questions in English and Arabic from sales calls, demos and support tickets.
  • Ask them every month in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. Record whether you appear, how you are described and which sources are cited.
  • Publish answer-first pages: a direct answer in the first paragraph, clear facts such as integrations, pricing approach and local compliance, and a short FAQ.
  • Write Arabic pages natively in simple Modern Standard Arabic, not machine translation, and keep your company and product names consistent across languages.
  • Earn citations from the sources AI already trusts: regional media, partner pages, directories, review sites and LinkedIn.
  • Measure what you can: AI referral traffic in your analytics, plus a 'how did you hear about us' field on demo forms.

If you are deciding which AI tools to add to your team, I shared the ones I rely on in the AI stack I actually use as a CMO (Chief Marketing Officer). For channel and message choices in the Gulf, see B2B SaaS marketing in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

What not to do

  • Do not buy a tracker before you have content worth citing. A dashboard will only confirm that you are missing.
  • Do not mass-produce AI-written Arabic pages. Thin content is unlikely to become the source AI trusts.
  • Do not abandon SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Crawlable, well-structured pages remain the foundation that answer engines read.

FAQ

What is answer engine optimization (AEO)?

AEO is the practice of improving how often and how accurately your brand appears in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. It focuses on clear, answer-first content and on being cited by sources the AI trusts.

How is AEO different from SEO?

SEO aims to rank pages in search results that people click. AEO aims to have your brand named inside the AI's answer itself, often without a click. Good SEO foundations help AEO, but AEO adds new work such as tracking AI mentions and earning third-party citations.

Does HubSpot AEO track Arabic answers?

HubSpot's launch materials list ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity but, as far as I could find, do not state which languages are supported. Until that is clear, run your Arabic buyer questions manually and track the results yourself.
